Solace Walkthrough

A fine companion to the newbie guide, this Solace walkthrough gives specifics of the solace area and quests, and strongly suggests where to go next. Read more

Solace

Solace, likely because of its important place within the Dragonlance book series, was one of the more popular towns during the early life of Arctic. While some of the popularity has shifted to Palanthas and Kalaman, it still remains a hub for low level characters. Focus was put on the "tree aspect" of the town (early incarnations of the zone lacked much more than a second level of town above the 'ground floor'), as well as adding new-player friendly guide mobs.. Port Balifor

The port town of Balifor is one of the better areas for new players, or those of a low level. This article details what's available in & around the town, some sights of interest, and a little bit of lore regarding the town. Especially those followers striving to uphold good ideals and virtues may find Balifor and its surroundings to be worthwhile to explore.. Read more

Palanthas

Although originally founded by residents of Tarsis who were stranded in a shipwreck, Palanthas quickly grew up around what was its most notable feature, the tower of High Sorcery. Although the tower was moved by magical means, the layout of the old city remains focused on this point, spiraling outward from what is now the palace of Lord Amothus, where the tower once stood. The "new city" lies to the southeast, and is the more recently constructed of the two areas. Read more

Tarsis

Prior to the Cataclysm, Tarsis had been a wealthy trading center, whose merchants had concluded deals with the empire of Ergoth as well as the kender of Hylo. Its wealth was known throughout the entirety of Ansalon, and its attractive position and harbor made it a frequent stop for vessels traversing the waves. At one point, the library in Tarsis rivaled even the Great Library of Palanthas. After the Cataclysm... Read more

Neraka

This town is one of the more lawless areas in Ansalon. The dragonarmies still maintain a strong presence here, and what order is bestowed on the area, is clearly not from the gods of Good. It is, nevertheless, a common stop for many on their journies, being situated on a plain within the Khalkhist mountain range. Many travellers coming to and from Kalaman, Balifor and Tarsis make their ways through Neraka, although few choose to call it home. The cities of Jelek and Telvan, also under the control of the dragonarmies, lie north on the road towards Kalaman, and the city of Delphon lies to the southeast, on one of the more popular routes to Balifor. Gulfport

The empire of Ergoth, largely destroyed in the Cataclysm, is now confined to one remaining city, Gulfport, which lies in the area of Northern Ergoth. The city retains most of the amenities of other cities across Ansalon, and as such is a viable base for adventurers seeking to explore the ruins which remain in Northern Ergoth. The city is located just west of the Kender city of Hylo, which itself lies west over the ocean from Palanthas. The gnome stronghold of Mount Nevermind, on the isle of Sancrist, lies to the southwest. Read more

Flotsam

During the Cataclysm and the destruction of Istar, the Blood Sea formed. It was then that Flotsam became a port town and began to prosper. The town is now a popular point of interest, and with good reason; being one of the seedier port towns in Ansalon, and situated near both a thriving merchant caravan as well as the town of Kendermore, many young heroes seek this area to strike out in search of fortune.
